Steve Jobs: In Loving Memory


Just one day after the new iPhone 4S was released, we are just hearing the news of Steve Jobs’s passing. At just 56, his life was cut short after a long battle with cancer, and he retired just a few weeks back to “focus on his health.” This news comes as a shock to us at AppRecap, as this web site would not be here without his ingenuity, creativity, and limitless imagination. He leaves behind the company he co-founded, tech behemoth Apple. As Steve Jobs said in his speech at the Stanford Commencement Ceremony in 2005:

Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure – these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose.
