Publisher: Sunghan Choi–Price: $2.99–Hotel Tycoon is a simulation game where you run your own hotel business. You start with a small amount of money and a two star hotel, and you need to work your way to the top, and beat your competitors. The game has this nice animated feel, which I really enjoyed, as it adds a fun style to the game. You can adjust the speed of the game, which is great, because I personally like simulation games at a faster pace, so cash flows in faster:) Also, the game includes a tutorial, which is especially helpful in simulation or tycoon games, as they are usually hard to understand at first. I liked the fact that there was also a great deal of hotels and land to be bought in the game, which means you can play many different games, and not get bored. It also has an autosave feature, which is great, because an iDevice can shut down, for example, and you can resume your game from where you left it. Some suggestions I have for the developer are to optimize the game for iOS 4: it doesn’t have good multitasking support (when you open it from multitasking, it opens the main menu), and the graphics could be better. Other than that, the game is quite fun, except after you play one game for about an hour, all the hotels are bought and built on, which renders the game somewhat boring after a while. Overall, I liked Hotel Tycoon, which is why it gets an 8.5 out of 10 from me, Thumbs up.
